Marie N. (Daikh) Elias, of Concord, affectionately known as Mary, died peacefully at Emerson Hospital in Concord on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2022, following a brief illness. She was 79.
Mary was born in Tripoli, Lebanon on March 27, 1943 to her late parents, Nazem Daikh and Zakia Hindous. During her earlier years, she received her teaching accreditation, and began a career in education. She built a strong rapport with her students, and cherished her role as a teacher and mentor to many young minds.
A Concord resident since 1984, she was an active member of the Trinitarian Congregational Church. Mary will be remembered as a phenomenal cook, particularly Lebanese cuisine, and took great delight when others enjoyed a meal she expertly prepared. She was gifted with a mechanical mind, and in her spare time, enjoyed drawing, painting and gardening.
She will be forever missed by her devoted husband of 50 years, Jack Elias, along with two daughters, Tina Elias Todd and her husband Derrick and Heather Elias and her husband Jake Tharpe, all of Wayland, four grandchildren, Zack and Olivia Todd and Max and Henry Tharpe, a sister, Selma Daikh, as well as several nieces. She was also the sister of the late Zaki Daikh.
At the family’s request, services at Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord are private.
