Frances Alma (Guerra) Cobino of Concord, formerly Saugus, passed away peacefully on Feb. 10 at age 92. She was the daughter of the late Felice and Anna (Muzzi) Guerra. Frances was the beloved wife of the late Frank R. Cobino with whom she shared 49 years of marriage. She was the cherished mother of Christine C. Schuster and her late husband Douglas C. Schuster and Juliann Cobino.
She was the devoted and proud “Nonni” of her grandchildren Kimberly F. Schuster, Kaitlin S. Schuster, and Christopher J. Marchese. They were the light of her life. Frances was predeceased by her loving sisters Lee Pisano, Jennifer Guerra, and Mary Butler. She also adored her many nieces and nephews.
A first generation Italian American, Frances was born in Boston and raised in Saugus. She graduated from Saugus High School and Burrough’s School of Business. She was employed as a supervisor for the Lynn Department of Mental Retardation for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts retiring in 1992.
Frances was a talented gardener, cook, and artist, winning multiple awards for her beautiful oil paintings. Her warm smile would light up a room. Her enthusiasm, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor made her a loyal friend who was loved by all. She will be sorely missed.
Family and friends will honor Frances’s life by gathering for a calling hour on Tuesday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Grove Street, Lynnfield, followed by her funeral Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
