Karin E. Codding, 79, of Concord, died suddenly at Emerson Hospital in Concord on June 27, 2023. She was the wife of the late Nathaniel “Nat” Codding who died in 2018, and mother of the late Jan Codding.
She was born in Stuttgart, Germany on April 29, 1944. After meeting Nat during his military deployment in Germany, she settled in Concord and raised her family. Prior to retirement, Karin was Vice President for CMMLS. She was an avid golfer, particularly through her membership at Concord Country Club.
She was a loving mother and fabulous grandmother. She took pleasure in the simple things in life, whether it was crafts, gardening or knitting. She will be remembered as a kind, generous person with a good heart. She was like a second mother to many of her children’s friends when they were growing up. Her love of all sports was steadfast. Karin seldom missed a golf tournament, NASCAR race, or Bruins and Patriots games.
She was the mother of Caroline Codding Murphy and her husband John of Maynard and Amy Codding and her husband Paul Loynd of Concord. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Gabrielle Codding and Raphael Codding of Lubbock, TX and Nathan Loynd of Concord.
Family and friends will gather for visiting hours at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center on Wednesday, July 12th from 4 to 7 pm. She will be laid to rest during a private burial service at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.
In honor of her admiration for animals, contributions in Karin’s memory may be made to the ASPCA (www.aspca.org).
Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Concord. To share a remembrance or to offer a condolence in Karin’s online guestbook, please visit www.DeeFuneralHome.com.
