Gerald Lynn “Jerry” Baker, of Harwinton, CT, died peacefully in Concord, MA on August 14, 2023 at the age of 97.
He was born in Tacoma, WA on October 2, 1925. He joined the Army Air Corps when he was 17 and was a navigator in WWII.
In 1948, he married Kathryn (Tinker) Hultgren. They were married for 71 years until her death in 2019. They lived in the same house in Harwinton for over 60 years.
After the war, Jerry went to the University of Washington Medical School. He then went on to become a radiologist at Hartford Hospital where he worked until he retired.
Jerry loved being a radiologist. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, sailing his Sunfish, working in the yard and many other things in life. He was very handy and could fix or build almost anything inside or outside the house.
He is survived by his daughter, Anne Keesler and her husband Dee, and his granddaughters Virginia Keesler and Charlotte Keesler Skrzynski (Mark). He was predeceased by his son, Charles Baker.
A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Avon, CT in the fall.
