The Concord-Carlisle High School boys hockey team started its season strong with a 3-0 shutout of Lincoln-Sudbury. The 13th annual Warriors 4 Warriors – Patriots 4 Patriots game was held December 14.
Just one minute into the game, Cam Doull corralled the puck in the neutral zone, skated through the LS defense, and fired a wrist shot that found the back of the net, putting the Patriots up 1-0.
CCHS goalie Jason Swaim made key saves to keep his team in the lead as both teams worked to create and capitalize on scoring opportunities.
Later in the first period, CC’s Jack Pesce kept the puck inside the blue line and fired it deep in the zone, where it found Chris Bono, who passed it to Owen Moynihan for the second goal of the game.
The Patriots held their 2-0 lead through the second period, looking solid on both power play and penalty killing lines. Bono broke up a threatening odd-man rush, followed by Tyler Kamionek’s two quick shots on net and Alex Fivek’s two close-range bids on the Warriors’ goal.
The third period had both teams playing with desperation and passion, with the Patriots protecting their lead and the Warriors scrapping to get on the board. CC defensemen blocked shots, and Swaim took care of everything that made it through to him, keeping LS off the scoreboard.
Near the end of the game, CC’s line of Doull, Ben Ohanian, and Joe Grasso broke the puck out of the Patriots’ defensive zone and into the LS end. Doull’s wrister rebounded off the crossbar, and Ohanian scooped it up and fired it home to seal the 3-0 win.
The annual Warriors 4 Warriors – Patriots 4 Patriots event honors Scott Milley and his family and supports military personnel and their families through the 1st Lt. Scott F. Milley Memorial Foundation.
