Obit Gregory Mark Williams Edit

Gregory Mark Williams, 68

Gregory Mark Williams, 68, of Las Vegas, formerly of Concord, died on December 12, 2024, in Las Vegas.

Born January 3, 1956, to the late Judge David B. and Gloria A. (Miller) Williams in Concord, Greg graduated from Concord-Carlisle Regional High School in 1974 and played goalie on the varsity hockey team. The team played at Boston Garden during the championships.

Greg was an avid reader and collector of baseball cards and helmets, coins, and classic comic books. Greg worked at the Southbridge Boat House for many years and saved to buy a Glastron motorboat and waterski on the Sudbury and Concord Rivers.  A lover of cars, Greg’s pride and joy was a classic 1965 Corvette Stingray.

Greg was highly knowledgeable in all major league sports and able to state statistics off the top of his head. Along with his dad, he traveled to all the original baseball parks in the country and to England to see the Harvard football team play.

The family spent many years in Rockport. When Greg relocated to Las Vegas, he drove across the country. He also vacationed in Mexico.

After high school, Greg embarked on the challenges of bodybuilding, moving initially to Santa Monica and training under Arnold Schwarzenegger. He eventually settled in Las Vegas, continuing to compete and achieving the title of Mr. Southwest in body building. Greg owned a gym and provided training to numerous people over the years. Declining health curtailed his professional life, and he then rescued and enjoyed time with his fur companions.

Greg leaves his sister Deborah and her partner Patrick Harrington of Pepperell and his cousin Clint M. Layman of East Providence, Rhode Island. Special thanks to the staff at the Care Home in Las Vegas, as well as his companion/helper, Leah Sanderson, who provided loyal care for many years.

Services will be private. Interment will be in the family plot at Westlawn Cemetery in Littleton. Arrangements through Inspired Life Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MSPCA or any animal rescue of your choice.
