Patricia M. (Norris) Lanchester, 82, a longtime Concord resident, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Beaumont Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough, following a long illness. She was surrounded by her family. Pat has been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 56 years, Edward F. Lanchester, who died in 2018.
Born on January 27, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Margaret (Coffey) Norris. While growing up in Brookline, she attended St. Mary’s Catholic School.
After marrying Ed, she settled in Concord, where her primary focus was raising a growing family of six children. She took a job at Emerson Hospital in the billing department, from which she retired in 2007 after more than 20 years of employment. She also worked for the SHINE program until 2019.
For many years, Pat was a devoted volunteer for the Concord Council on Aging and a member of the Maynard Elks. In her later years, she could often be found reading a good book or working on crossword puzzles. She never passed up an opportunity to spend quality time with those she loved, especially treasuring visits with her grandchildren.
As the cherished matriarch of her family, Pat will be missed by her children, Kevin Lanchester of Concord, Gary Lanchester and his wife Susan of Concord, Cheryl Lanchester of Concord, Scott Lanchester of North Carolina, Glenn Lanchester and Lynne Donahue of Concord; her grandchildren Irene, Nicholas, Heather, Preston, Julia, Spencer, Justin, Joseph and Erin; and her great-grandchildren Bexley and JJ. She was the sister of Alan Norris, Brian Norris, Barbara Rapson, and the late Norman Norris and Janet Benson. Pat is also survived by her brothers-in-law Henry and Robert Lanchester, along with many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will celebrate Pat’s life during visiting hours at the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, on Thursday, January 9, from 4-7 p.m., with an Elks service beginning at 6:30. Her funeral will be held on Friday, January 10, at 9 a.m. from Dee Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
