I am excited to announce my candidacy for the Concord School Committee. With two children at Thoreau, I see firsthand the importance of fostering a strong partnership between families, educators, and the community. It would be an honor to serve on the committee, helping shape a future that reflects the best of our collective aspirations.
I’m committed to making our schools an exemplar for generations to come. My priorities include:
- Inclusion and Support: Creating nurturing environments where every child can thrive
- Accountability: Advocating for equitable resources and community-driven policies
- Fiscal Responsibility: Balancing competing priorities in town, controlling spending
- Integrity and Transparency: Building trust through fair, open decision-making
My journey is deeply intertwined with the fabric of this community. As a first-generation immigrant from a family of educators, I’ve experienced firsthand the transformative power of education. After earning engineering degrees in Nebraska, where I met my wife, Shuchi, I pursued a doctorate at Arizona State, exploring my interest in pedagogy, amongst other topics. In 2017, our growing family and I chose Concord as our home, drawn by its unique blend of academic excellence and community spirit.
My life has been dedicated to giving back. I’ve served four years on the Thoreau PTG board, three years on the Concord Education Fund board, and two years coaching youth sports. Working at MIT Lincoln Laboratory has honed my collaboration and problem-solving skills — qualities I’ll bring to the School Committee. These experiences, combined with my commitment to integrity, accountability, and service, have prepared me to serve our schools and community.
I’m thrilled at the prospect of working with you to ensure every child in Concord has the opportunity to thrive. I look forward to listening to your concerns and building on the strong foundation of our schools.
