In its second giant slalom meet, held January 16, the Concord-Carlisle High School alpine ski team won three of its four matchups.

Boys notch dual victory

The boys’ team achieved two wins, defeating Lexington-Waltham, 54-35, and Bedford, 56-33. Junior Theo Remington finished first, followed closely by junior Tucker Kuftinec and senior Henry Flint in third and fourth places, respectively. Junior Jakab Renyi scored a 17th-place finish, and junior Sam Snell placed 18th.

The second group closely followed the top six, with junior Will Redmond finishing 19th. Junior Finn Ruhmann secured 29th place, just ahead of junior Declan MacQueen in 30th.

Girls’ results

On the girls’ side, senior Delaney Remington lost a ski during her second run after initially posting the day’s fourth-fastest time. This helped Lexington-Waltham to win, 44-42. CCHS performed well against Bedford, winning 56-30. Sophomore Juniper Flint placed seventh, and freshman Julia Reynolds rebounded from a tough first run to achieve the day’s fifth-fastest time, finishing 19th. Senior Izzy Poole took 21st, and the Clancy sisters contributed points, with junior Maddie finishing 27th and freshman Ceci placing 33rd.

The second group of girls was led by freshman Evvy Hickey in 31st place. Juniors Elise McMorrow, Sierra Fonte, and Julia Leary made significant improvements, while freshmen Maya Ostrom and Sonya Mellnick each completed both runs in their first high school race.
