Michael Williams ‘will deliver results’ for Concord schools

January 24, 2025

With pleasure we endorse Michael Williams for a seat on the Concord School Committee.

His experience as a parent gives him a deep appreciation for both the strengths of our schools and the areas where improvement is needed. Michael is a 30-year Concordian, a pediatric surgeon, a husband, and father of four children who graduated from our public schools.

In addition to his personal and familial experience with the town and the school system, Michael also brings a wealth of professional experience where navigating complex decisions were essential. He recently retired from a 34-year career in general and pediatric otolaryngology, where in addition to his practice he held academic appointments at Harvard Medical School.

His studies began as an undergraduate at MIT. He received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, and his otolaryngology training at Harvard’s Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary. He met his wife, Clary, during his post-graduate training at Beth Israel Hospital and later did a pediatric otolaryngology fellowship in New York. As a charter member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, he understands well the challenges of children with a variety of special needs.

He is skilled at analyzing information, weighing competing priorities, and making thoughtful choices with significant consequences. Just as he approached his medical career with fairness and care, he will bring the same diligence and perspective to our town and children.

Michael is passionate about enhancing classroom learning, empowering students, and inspiring innovation. He believes in aligning spending with clear goals that prioritize excellence, accountability, and meaningful results.

We encourage you to vote for Michael — a leader who will deliver results and represent the best interests of our students, families, and community.
