Concord Police log highlights: January 8-14, 2025

Wednesday, January 8

8:02 a.m. A caller reported that a yield sign at Commonwealth Avenue at the rotary was in the road. Police placed a cone for safety; state police notified the  Department of Transportation (DOT). 

3:07 p.m. A 911 caller reported a golden retriever left in a car near Baker Avenue. The dog was not in distress, and the owner was notified. 

3:12 p.m. DOT reported a car on the side of the road near Valley Sports, and the driver appeared slumped over the wheel. The caller contacted police again to report the car had left. 

6:37 p.m. A Nathan Pratt Drive resident reported a previously stolen package. 

6:42 p.m. A Lincoln resident reported they had hit a deer on Walden Street near Walden Pond. The deer was located in Lincoln. 

Thursday, January 9

8:44 a.m. A caller reported a utility truck in Lowell Road, impeding traffic. It belonged to a company working on Keyes Road. The truck pulled into the Concord Public Works lot. 

9:14 a.m. Multiple vehicles holding up traffic on Sudbury Road. Police moved the vehicles along. 

12:14 p.m. A motorist called to report a dead animal on Cambridge Turnpike. Police notified CPW. 

1:57 p.m. A resident came to the police station to report an unknown party had used their Social Security number to open a bank account. Police took a report. 

6:22 p.m. A caller reported a driver on Riverdale Road “swerving and stopping and going,” possibly on a cellphone. Police stopped the car and issued a summons for driving without a license and a marked-lanes violation. The driver was picked up by a friend, and the car was towed.

Friday, January 10

11:44 a.m. Multiple callers reported a minor car collision with a parked car on Thoreau Street. There were no injuries, and the parked vehicle was towed.

3:40 p.m. A Bristers Hill Road resident requested advice regarding a possible scam. 

4:30 p.m. A woman said she was involved in a road rage incident on Lowell Road at Barretts Mill Road. She said a man got out of his vehicle and banged on her window. A second call from a witness reported the same. 

5:40 p.m. A Commonwealth Avenue resident reported people ice skating after dark. Police responded and confirmed the skaters were finishing up for the night. 

Saturday, January 11

4:53 a.m. A 911 caller reported a car hitting a pole on Route 2 East at the rotary. The airbag deployed, and the person was unable to get out of the vehicle but was alert. State police were advised. The car was towed, CMLP was notified, and the person was taken to Emerson Hospital.

7:41 a.m. A 911 caller reported a pickup truck had veered off Plainfield Road. The road was temporarily shut down as the truck was pulled out by a tow company. The driver was not injured. 

9:20 a.m. A caller reported he had parked his Honda Ridgeline at Concord Academy near Academy Lane and Main Street and could not find it. The owner called back before police arrived to say he had located his vehicle. 

2:37 p.m. A Woodland Road resident asked to speak to the animal control officer regarding three dogs that ran into her yard and had since run off. The ACO will follow up. 

Sunday, January 12

12:40 a.m. Residents of Grove Street reported an SUV had been idling and circling the neighborhood. Two police cars responded, but officers found nothing suspicious. 

1:10 p.m. A Bedford Road resident reported two cones at the end of her driveway had been taken sometime the prior night or morning. Police will check with CPW to see if they noticed the cones during the snowstorm. 

2:12 p.m. An Indian Spring Road resident said a person had trespassed on her property twice last week. The resident told the party it was private property and asked them to leave, but neighbors saw the person again today. She asked for guidance; police advised her to call if the party returns. 

4:39 p.m. A Central Street resident reported a man in her backyard who appeared to be lost. She stated he was last seen running down Chase Road wearing an orange jacket. Police located the person, who was taking a walk. 

5:45 p.m. A resident flagged down a patrol car, saying a woman near the Fenn School needed help. A 911 caller said a woman was looking for a dog in the road at Monument and Liberty Streets. The dog was returned home. 

7:26 p.m. A Lowell Road caller reported hearing six gunshots behind her home, possibly coming from Westford Road. Police checked the area and found nothing. 

Monday, January 13

1:21 p.m. A Fairhaven Road caller reported a husky walking without its owner. The ACO was notified and intended to follow up with the owner, but the owner called in first. Dog and owner were reunited. 

1:52 p.m. A person came to the police station to report a loss of money by bitcoin. 

11:35 p.m. A caller reported a car hitting a deer at Sudbury Road and Whittemore Street. The deer left the area, but there was extensive damage to the vehicle. The police stayed until state police arrived. 

Tuesday, January 14

12:18 p.m. A person walked into the station and said she’d parked her car at 10 a.m. near Stow Street and was unable to find it. Police located the vehicle on Sudbury Road.

12:23 p.m. A Sudbury Road resident asked to speak to the ACO about an animal in the chimney. ACO will follow up.
