School Committee’s Anderson ‘the ideal candidate’

January 31, 2025

I am writing to endorse Alexa Anderson for School Committee. Having observed her dedication and service to our community, I believe she is the ideal candidate to continue representing the interests of our students.

Alexa has served as chair for the past two years, showcasing her leadership skills and commitment to our community. Her role on the CMS Building Committee highlights her ability to manage complex projects effectively. Additionally, her position as the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee liaison demonstrates her advocacy for all students, ensuring that every child’s needs are met.

One of her notable achievements includes negotiating the most recent Concord Teachers Union contract, securing a prudent three-year agreement. Furthermore, she is an active member of the CCHS Campus Completion Subcommittee and has collaborated with Boston Magazine to ensure accurate representation of our schools in their annual rankings, correcting previous inaccuracies to reflect our community’s true standing.

As the most senior member of the School Committee, Alexa possesses a wealth of historical knowledge that is crucial for providing continuity in our educational governance. Her collaborative and cooperative spirit, coupled with a “can-do” attitude, makes her an invaluable asset to the committee.

Alexa’s large multi-generational network within our town allows her to understand the diverse perspectives of students, parents, and the broader population. This unique insight empowers her to advocate effectively for all community members. Her strong communication skills, attentive listening, and transparent approach have significantly improved access to information for both committee members and the public.

For these reasons, I wholeheartedly endorse Alexa Anderson for the School Committee. Her experience, dedication, and commitment to transparency will undoubtedly continue to benefit our schools and community.
