Concord Police log highlights: January 15-21, 2025

Wednesday, January 15

12:48 p.m. A 911 caller reported a three-vehicle crash at Main Street and Westvale Meadow. A driver was issued a citation for operating with a suspended license, violating a town bylaw, and failure to use care in stopping. 

2:15 p.m. A Stow Street resident reported a car parked in the crosswalk. Police contacted the owner, who said he was chaperoning a trip with Concord Recreation and would move the car when he returned. A citation was issued. 

4:04 p.m. A caller reported he was involved in a minor accident on Main Street and that his side mirror was damaged. The vehicle was towed, and the driver was cited for driving with a revoked registration. 

5:21 p.m. A 911 caller reported she was involved in a hit-and-run accident near Elm Street. Police responded to Walden Street and located the car at a residence. The owner was contacted, and the parties exchanged information. 

Thursday, January 16

5:13 a.m. A Heaths Bridge Road resident called 911 to report he had no power. Concord Municipal Light Plant was contacted. Staff said they had already responded and advised the homeowner to call an electrician.

8:08 a.m. An employee on Baker Avenue said she saw one car hit another and then park in a separate location. Police responded, and a note was left on the damaged vehicle. 

10:46 p.m. A patrol car checked on a car in the lot of Rossini’s Pizza. It belonged to the last employee closing up for the night. 

Friday, January 17

1:05 a.m. A Sudbury Road resident said she could see people pushing a disabled car. They were trying to push it onto Whittemore Street and waited for a private tow. 

6:53 a.m. The Concord Public Works Department said an equipment trailer had been parked on Anson Road since the previous snowstorm, and CPW staff asked that it be moved. The owner was contacted and said he’d move the vehicle. 

10:50 a.m. A resident came to the station to report possible identity theft. 

10:56 a.m. A Hayward Mill Circle resident said her lawyer had brought her purse to her at a Newton care facility, but she believed she was missing cash. Police checked the residence and found it secure. Police followed up with the lawyer and determined no crime had been committed. 

3:39 p.m. Police checked on a possibly disabled car on Harrington Avenue. The driver was with Lyft and looking for a pickup location. 

6:43 p.m. A 911 caller from the Exxon gas station on Concord Turnpike reported a man smashed a plexiglass divider in the store and pushed the clerk. The car was seen heading east on Route 2. State and Lincoln Police were notified. The car was not there when police arrived, but the alleged assailant was identified and police were to pursue further action.

7:05 p.m. A person turned in a wallet found in the Thoreau Street Dunkin’ parking lot. The owner was contacted. 

9:39 p.m. A Brook Road resident said he could hear a large group of people at Rideout Park. It was a group of teens playing tag. They were advised of park hours and left without issue. 

Saturday, January 18

3:25 a.m. Police stopped a car on Concord Turnpike and arrested a man for driving under the influence of alcohol, his first offense. The car was towed. 

3:31 p.m. A mail carrier dropped off a license plate found on Arena Terrace. It belonged to the Concord Water Department, which will pick it up. 

5:23 p.m. Two lost wallets were turned in to an officer by a West Concord Wine and Spirits employee. Messages were left for the owners. 

7:15 p.m. A caller reported a car ran the stop sign at Baker Avenue Extension by Concord Animal Hospital and hit her vehicle. That driver was cited, and the caller was escorted home. 

Sunday, January 19

1:59 p.m. A Concord Academy staffer walked in to ask about resources for safe teenage driving. 

4:16 p.m. A Main Street resident said their neighbor was blocking their garage door and impeding access. Police left a message with the neighbor. 

Monday, January 20

1:17 a.m. CPW reported three cars in the municipal lots on Keyes Road. Two cars were ticketed; the third belonged to a bank employee who was clearing snow. 

1:23 a.m. CPW reported two cars on Hubbard Street preventing snow removal. Citations were issued. 

1:23 a.m. CPW reported two cars on Commonwealth Avenue and Laws Brook Road impeding snow removal. One car was moved; the other was ticketed. 

2:27 a.m. An Old Bedford Road caller reported hearing two voices in her home. Police checked the residence and determined the voices were coming from the caller’s cellphone. 

6:36 a.m. The traffic lights at Main Street and Commonwealth Avenue were not cycling. Police assisted with traffic while waiting for CMLP and the traffic light company to arrive. 

7:55 a.m. A car struck the speed limit sign near Concord Country Club. The driver suffered no injuries, and the car was driveable. Police photographed the sign. 

10:11 An Estabrook Road resident asked police to check his home, as his snowplow provider told him the front door was open. The house was clear; the door had a faulty latch. 

Tuesday, January 21 

7:22 a.m. The Conant Street railroad gates were stuck halfway down. Police notified the railroad company, which was sending someone out. 

10:46 a.m. CPW reported vehicles parked overnight at the West Concord train station. As the MBTA lot is paid parking, the town’s overnight parking restriction does not apply. 

3:47 p.m. A Virginia Road resident reported someone had driven into her fence the night before. The damage appeared to be from a plow; the homeowner will contact her snow removal provider. 

4:31 p.m. A resident said a car had been parked at Bayberry and Laws Brook Roads for “close to a year” and it was impeding traffic and snow removal. A citation was issued; the owner will have the vehicle removed. 

5:39 p.m. A Main Street caller reported a small dog inside a black sedan. Police contacted the owner.
