An update on The Concord Bridge calendar listing request policy

February 6, 2025

A note from the editors:

The Concord Bridge’s mission is to “Keep Concord Connected,” and in that spirit, we welcome submissions for our calendar section.

Calendar listings run at the discretion of the editors. We focus on events in Concord that are generally open to the public and are free or reasonably priced. Because there are many of these, we rarely have space for out-of-town events, and cannot consider those without a clear Concord connection.

Our calendar generally does not list events promoting the products or services of for-profit businesses, nor admissions-focused events sponsored by private schools. We may consider some exceptions for fundraisers or benefits.

The Bridge calendar is, like the newspaper, non-partisan. That means we do not accept paid political advertising, and we refrain from publishing calendar listings that promote national political activities, causes, and candidates via rallies, phone banking, and fundraising events. We will, however, accept listings for free candidate coffees or meet-ups for those running in town elections.

Calendar submissions should be as concise as possible — no more than 60 words — and include the event’s time, date, place, cost (if applicable), and a short, clear description using the form on our website

Listings are due at noon on the Wednesday of the week before publication, though it’s always best to give the most notice possible. Due to our print production schedule, we can’t always accommodate late listings.

Submissions may be edited for length and clarity.

We appreciate your consideration and your help in apprising our community of town events.
