The Concord-Carlisle High School wrestling team fell to Dual County League rivals Wayland on January 29 in a faceoff for the DCL championship. Each squad was 3-0 in the DCL going into the dual meet.
Despite dominant pins delivered by senior captains Miles Mattaliano and Eddie Myles, sophomores Kyle Amouzgar and Penn Boger, and junior Ammar Bagasra, the Patriots couldn’t match the depth of the Wayland lineup. CC fell to Wayland, 47-30.
In the JV matchup, Rex Reissen, Rhys Johnson, and Tate Olson all won by pin.

On February 1, the Patriots traveled to Duxbury for a dual tournament. CC split the day, beating Walpole 70-10 but losing to Duxbury 35-44, bringing their season record to 10-10.
Freshman Max Bell had a big day with two quick pins, and sophomores Penn Boger and Kyle Amouzgar also won both of their matches by pin. Senior captain Eddie Myles won both matches, one by pin and one by tech fall. Freshman Max Currie delivered an exciting win against Walpole, coming from behind to pin his opponent. Madhi Al Thuwaini and Savoy Hightower also delivered quick pins against Walpole. Kian Heaffner won by pin against his Duxbury opponent.
