Anderson’s ‘consensus-building aptitude’

February 14, 2025

I am writing to enthusiastically recommend Alexa Anderson for a second term on the Concord-Carlisle School Committee. Alexa has the direct experience, hometown passion, innate smarts, and “can-do” attitude that will continue to serve our school community well in the years to come.

I have known Alexa personally for 10 years; we met almost immediately after our family’s move to Concord and arrival at the Thoreau School. Alexa was the Parent Teacher Group president at that time, and she worked quickly to involve our family in the Thoreau School community. Since that time we have spent many hours together — from cheering on baseball sidelines to working on various committees and boards in town — and I have witnessed Alexa’s ability to build community everywhere she goes. I credit Alexa’s interest in developing and maintaining diverse relationships and listening well with the strong sense of community I have experienced at Thoreau, at CMS, and now at CCHS. I believe this consensus-building aptitude is an essential characteristic of a successful School Committee member.

From my perspective, it is clear that Alexa cares deeply about the many stakeholders within our school community: students, teachers, parents, and administrators alike. Ultimately, it is our students who have and will continue to benefit from Alexa’s work on their behalf. I feel confident that Alexa will continue to foster a meaningful community within the School Committee and at the schools that her work directly impacts, and, for that reason in particular, I am pleased to offer my wholehearted endorsement of Alexa’s candidacy for School Committee.
