Re-elect Alexa Anderson for her ‘preparation, organization, enthusiasm’

February 14, 2025

I am writing to enthusiastically endorse Alexa Anderson for a second term on the School Committee.

With deep ties to Concord and its schools and a demonstrated commitment to school leadership and volunteerism since her children began school, Alexa combines firsthand knowledge of what makes Concord schools exceptional with the strong desire and experience to ensure they remain that way.

Alexa is a natural and effective leader — diplomatic, fair, and a strong and clear communicator; she has a deep understanding of the issues and challenges that face today’s students, and she strikes a balance between defending tradition and embracing innovation — all while maintaining a laser focus on student well-being. As the senior-most committee member and its chair for two years, her accomplishments include serving on the Concord Middle School Building Committee, acting as Special Education Parent Advisory Committee Liaison, and negotiating the most recent Concord Teachers Union contract. She also collaborated with Boston Magazine to ensure accurate school data in their rankings and worked diligently to correct past errors.

Alexa has cultivated strong relationships with Dr. Hunter, school administrators, and the Finance Committee, enabling her to navigate complex issues, foster collaboration across diverse groups, and facilitate real progress.

As clerk for the CCHS Parent Association, I meet with Alexa regularly. In addition to her significant work on the School Committee, she also serves as a class rep for her son’s class of 2027, fostering community among parents and students. Alexa approaches every role with preparation, organization, and enthusiasm.

Alexa’s dedication, experience, and leadership are invaluable to our schools; we should consider ourselves quite fortunate to have someone so capable serve on the School Committee.
