For five years now, Alexa Anderson has worked sincerely to create her vision of Concord. While I acknowledge her hard work and dedication to her vision, I embrace a different vision for the town I love. For instance, I would eagerly have honored the Town Meeting vote to name the new middle school after Ellen Garrison in the year of the 250th. I saw that as an unbelievable historic opportunity falling into our laps.
I would also question our superintendent of schools more closely about her policies. For instance, I feel Concord should be sending our 123 METCO students home every day as ambassadors for Concord, having enjoyed their daily passage in our schools; not going home having had to grimly endure their time here.
I feel the need for change — a different vision. Concord has always been a leader in maintaining a safe and welcoming place for all its members — and in providing a beacon of strength, an example, for those beyond our borders. We all need to stand up firmly in these challenging times. A good place to start is by embracing and supporting the youngest members of our community. I will vote for Michael Williams and Sandeep Pisharody for School Committee. What is your vision for Concord?
