Mary G. (Kiernan) Kane, age 87, of Concord, passed away at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. She was the loving wife for 64 years of John J. Kane.
Mary was born in Medford on January 3, 1938, to John and Agnes (Sullivan) Kiernan. She was raised in Arlington and graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy in Boston. She then went on to receive her undergraduate degree from Boston State College.
A woman of great faith, she ran the CCD program at St. Bernard’s Church for many years.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who made family the center of her life. She was smart, kindhearted and caring. She enjoyed traveling, following her children’s travels, family brunch, and the hunt for the perfect bargain.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Stephen and Joanne Kane; her sister, Claire Bergstrom; and her brother, Joseph Kiernan. She was the mother of the late Brian Kane and sister to the late John Kiernan.
Family and friends will gather for a period of visitation from 9 to 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, February 26, in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.in St. Bernard’s Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
