CCHS boys Nordic ski team wins MBW title

The Concord-Carlisle High School boys Nordic ski team, led by first year head coach Marika Massey-Bierman, won its final race on February 4 to go 4-1 on the season. The boys placed four skiers in the top 10, edging Wayland, 465 to 434 points. 

On a winding, 7-kilometer course, co-captain Adam Synnestvedt won in 17:49, Zach Scopinich-Burgel followed in fourth (18:07), Tyler Abrams was sixth (18:26), Roman Lin was seventh (18:32), and Reid Purwin closed the scoring in 22nd (21:49). 

With four wins, Synnestvedt won individual league honors for the second consecutive year. CC’s top four skiers finished in the league’s top 10, earning MassBayWest All-Star honors. 

In team competition, with four wins, the boys are league champions, ahead of Wayland and Winchester. It’s their ninth straight MBW title.

The girls team finished fifth in MBW behind Winchester, Acton-Boxborough, Westford, and Lincoln-Sudbury.  

Theresa Green had five top-20 finishes, including one 15th-place finish. She was 22nd in MBW overall. Ellie Schmidt finished 27th in league standings. Catherine Richardson finished 32nd, scoring for the team in all her races, as did her sister Phoebe, who finished 36th in league standings.
