Wednesday, February 5

4:41 a.m. An Emerson Hospital caller reported an irate patient and family members in the lobby. Police responded. 

7:34 a.m. A Flint Road resident reported an unfamiliar car parked near their home. It belonged to a newspaper delivery driver. 

10:28 a.m. A walk-in complainant reported an unknown party had attempted to cash a check using their bank information. 

5:50 p.m. A Chestnut Street caller said a man in a U-Haul had been idling “for a while” in the area. Police responded and determined the man lives on Walnut Street. 

10:03 p.m. An Old Bedford Road resident reported a disabled vehicle. Police also discovered a large pothole in the road and notified Concord Public Works. 

Thursday, February 6

8:57 a.m. A Walden Street resident reported a man in a blue coat approached the back door of his neighbor’s house and that he didn’t believe the neighbor was home. Police responded and found the homeowner was, indeed, at his residence. 

10:21 a.m. A motorist called to report he slid into the curb and popped a tire at Main and Wood Streets. Police responded, and AAA was called. Police brought two students to the middle school. 

12:38 p.m. A caller reported she had lost her engagement ring in a Main Street parking lot the day before. 

3:27 p.m. An officer was approached by a person in Monument Square who reported that a car was parked in the crosswalk at Main Street and Keyes Road every morning between 10 and 11. Police will follow up. 

Friday, February 7

9:17 a.m. A caller reported a box truck had struck a tree limb on Virginia Road and there was debris in the roadway. Police and CPW responded; the road was cleared and the truck towed. 

6:40 p.m. An Adin Drive resident reported her car alarm had gone off at around 2:15 a.m. She didn’t want to file a report but asked about any recent car break-ins in the area. 

11:16 p.m. An officer stopped to assist a colleague with a stop on Route 2 by Sudbury Road and his cruiser was rear-ended by another vehicle. Police arrested Matthew Smith, 44, of Ayer, and charged him with operating under the influence of alcohol (second offense), open container in a motor vehicle, negligent operation, and using an electronic device while operating a motor vehicle. The car was towed, and bail was set at personal recognizance by the bail commissioner. 

Saturday, February 8

7:12 a.m. A Westvale Drive caller found a dog shivering in his driveway. He brought the dog into his house. The animal control officer was notified, and the possible owner was contacted. 

1:32 p.m. The manager of the Residence Inn on Baker Avenue reported a female guest “making erratic statements.” Police responded; the guest gathered her belongings and left the property. 

5:22 p.m. A Main Street caller reported her neighbor had been parking in front of her garage, so the caller couldn’t park inside. Police responded; the blocking car had been moved. 

5:52 p.m. A Strawberry Hill Road resident reported someone had rung his doorbell 45 minutes before. The caller said he was not home but saw a person approach his house, notice the camera, and then walk back to the road to two other people and put on a ski mask. The person then rang the bell and ran away. Police responded but found no one. 

7:38 p.m. A Concord Turnpike caller reported a white van had been parked near the cell tower for “a couple of days.” Police said it appeared the car had broken down.

Sunday, February 9

11:58 a.m. A Laws Brook Road caller reported a fire hydrant had been hit by a snowplow, and the cap had come off. Police shut down the hydrant and notified CPW and the fire department. A repair was scheduled for Monday.

1:11 p.m. A Nashoba Road resident reported a neighbor was blowing snow onto their property. Police spoke to both parties. 

5:53 p.m. A Main Street caller wanted to speak to an officer about an ongoing neighbor dispute and asked about obtaining a trespass notice. Advice was given. 

6:11 p.m. An All Town Mobil employee turned in a found purse. The owner was contacted and was to pick it up at the station. 

6:32 p.m. A Nathan Pratt Drive caller reported an apartment door in the building had been left ajar for a week. The caller thought an elderly woman lived there. Police responded and found that work apparently was being done inside. 

10:05 p.m. A Caterina Heights caller reported low water pressure. Police notified Concord Water Department, which will contact the caller. 

Monday, February 10

8 a.m. A 911 caller reported an accident on Sudbury Road between a Chevrolet and a school bus. There were two children on board the bus; the parents picked them up and declined medical treatment. The car operator was issued a warning for failure to use care. 

9:42 a.m. A caller reported an empty car parked “in a bad spot” at Sudbury and Southfield Roads. The driver had run out of gas and was walking to the hardware store to get a gas container. 

5:09 p.m. A Strawberry Hill Road caller said he felt uncomfortable after an interaction with a garage door repair company. He said the repair person didn’t seem to know what he was doing and was “acting strange.” The person left when the homeowner asked him to. Police responded and made a “no trespass” request through the company’s dispatch. 

Tuesday, February 11

11:09 a.m. An Old Pickard Road caller reported a crack in the sidewalk with water coming out of it. Police responded and notified CWD, which confirmed a water main break. CPW salted the sidewalk and street for safety, pending repair. 

4:05 p.m. A Brine Sporting Goods employee was reviewing security footage and reported a theft of a flannel jacket on February 7. The party returned a few hours later and attempted to take something else. Police are investigating. 

9:11 p.m. A Nashawtuc Road resident reported a red sedan had been parked across from the house for five hours. The house nearby is under construction, and the car belonged to a worker.
