On behalf of Concord Children’s Center, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude to this incredible community for 50 years of care, curiosity, and community. Since our founding in 1975 by Deborah Begner and Chris McVinney Gerzon, the children and families of Concord and surrounding towns have benefited from our mission to provide quality early education and care. As we’ve served thousands of children and their families over the years, we are fortunate to have simultaneously created a relationship with the Concord community that we deeply treasure.
To mark this incredible anniversary milestone, we are thrilled to announce our 50th anniversary celebrations. We invite everyone to join us on April 2 at 6 p.m. at the Concord Free Public Library’s Goodwin Forum for a panel discussion, “Harvesting the Spirit of Transcendentalism in Education Today.” Our panel of pre-K through grade 12 educators, moderated by Rev. Jenny Rankin, will reflect on their modern teaching experiences in the context of the Transcendentalists’ literary, philosophical, spiritual, and reform-minded movement of the early 1800s. This free, public event is part of the Concord250 celebration this April.
In the fall, CCC will host a gala event to celebrate our journey together. We will cap our anniversary year with a family-friendly event in spring 2026 for CCC children, families, and alumni. We hope many members of the Concord and CCC communities will join us throughout this historic year.
We also want to hear from you. We invite you to share special memories, stories, or photos from the past 50 years with CCC. Visit concordchildrenscenter.org to submit your memories, update your contact information, and be part of our collective history.
Thank you for being an essential part of our story. We look forward to celebrating with you.
