I am honored to write this letter in enthusiastic support of Alexa Anderson’s candidacy for reelection to the School Committee. Having worked alongside Alexa as board members at Milldam Nursery School, I have witnessed firsthand her dedication to teamwork and mentorship — qualities that make her an outstanding leader.
As a senior board member at Milldam, Alexa understood the importance of continuity and took it upon herself to pass on institutional knowledge to newer members. Her leadership was never about personal recognition; instead, she prioritized collaboration and empowerment, ensuring that every member had the tools and confidence to contribute effectively. It is this same selfless leadership that defines her work on the School Committee today.
Though she has only been on the school committee for a little over four years, having joined in late 2020 following the delayed fall Town Meeting, Alexa is now the senior-most member, bringing the same commitment to mentorship and teamwork that she demonstrated at Milldam. She recognizes that committee work is about collective success, not individual accolades. She rolls up her sleeves, works in partnership with others, and creates an environment where every committee member is empowered to lead.
Alexa’s generous spirit and willingness to let others shine is what sets her apart. She ensures that everyone she works with is as informed and prepared as she is, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared success. As she embarks on her final term, I have no doubt that she will continue to uplift and prepare newer members, leaving a legacy of strong, capable leadership.
I urge you to join me in voting for Alexa Anderson on April 8. Our schools and our community will be stronger with her continued leadership.
