Concord-Carlisle High School senior co-captain Eddie Myles will compete in the All-State Tournament on February 28 and March 1 at Methuen High School.
Senior co-captain Miles Mattaliano was injured in his first bout of the day. Despite this, Mattaliano won the match but withdrew from additional tournament competition because of the injury. This concluded an impressive high school wrestling career, which includes two sectional championships, multiple state qualifications, and entry into the elite “100 Win” club.
Myles was 2-0 on Friday with two first round pins. On day 2, Myles lost a tight 8-6 match in the semifinals — his only loss this season. He quickly turned the page and secured two dominant 15-0 tech fall wins to finish in third place. Mattaliano and Myles were among the five CCHS wrestlers who qualified for last weekend’s Division 1 state tournament. Competitors had to win two matches to qualify for day two.
Junior Kian Haeffner qualified as an alternate after finishing fifth at sectionals the prior week, but went 0-2 against two top-seeded wrestlers in the 165-pound weight class. Kyle Amouzgar and Penn Boger went 1-2 on the day to conclude their sophomore seasons.
