Keep our libraries open on Sundays

March 7, 2025

I was shocked to see a headline in the February 14 issue of The Bridge that the town was considering reducing library hours, specifically closing the Main Library on Sundays, in order to save some money in the next town budget. Reducing the hours of either of the town’s libraries would be unconscionable. Especially when a town the size of Concord has more than its fair share of human resource employees who make very sizable salaries. There is absolutely no need for a town this size to carry five full-time employees in the Human Resources Department. That’s not where I want to see my tax dollars spent.

Reducing precious town resources like library hours affects every resident of Concord. I realize the town has a difficult task, but please look for real waste and redundancy before considering essential town services like library hours.
