Closing the Concord Public Library on Sunday would create a huge loss for all Concord’s citizens — particularly our youth. As a former teacher in the Concord Middle School, I know first hand how important the library is to our students. The weekend, especially Sunday, is the time our students solidify their plans for the coming academic week. The library is an integral part of this important planning. The areas created for just this purpose through the recent remodeling of the library are perfect, and they are heavily used. All this wonderful space for our student population going to waste on Sunday? Hard to justify.
