With two young kids, I offer my enthusiastic support for Michael Williams and Sandeep Pisharody for School Committee. I value that they’re approaching the School Committee from two unique vantage points, bringing diversity of thought, rich discussion, and innovation. Both candidates have shared the importance of fiscal responsibility and hearing from citizens with different views.
As scientists, both are skilled in challenging assumptions, diving deep for more information, and considering problems from multiple perspectives. The balance of these two candidates, along with the other members of the School Committee, would be an exceptional team, offering greater transparency and accountability as they represent the interests of our town and our children.
As close family friends, I’ve known the Williamses since childhood. Michael is one of the most curious and enthusiastic learners I’ve ever met. He is constantly exploring new ideas and gathering data to inform his own thoughts. He has a steadfast moral compass, and is willing to challenge misconceptions and champion the needs of all. His involvement in the Concord community and passion for education are coupled with personal experience having raised four kids through the school district. He’s seen firsthand the challenges they faced and what it takes to support and foster a child’s growth and learning through adulthood.
My family and the Pisharodys moved to Concord in the same year, wanting to raise our children in this community. I share Sandeep’s focus on supporting our kids’ interests, building connections through community involvement, and consciously preparing our kids to adapt and persevere in a changing world. Sandeep is embedded in the parent teacher group, hearing from young parents and witnessing the evolving landscape facing our children.
With two School Committee open positions, I can’t imagine two better candidates.
