Concord Police log highlights

Wednesday, February 19

9:43 a.m. Club Car Cafe called to report that a vehicle was stuck on the train tracks on Commonwealth Avenue. Police responded and notified Keolis. The vehicle was removed with no issues. Police said the incident did not impact the trains or traffic. 

4:02 p.m. Someone called from near Keyes Road and said a vehicle had been parked and running in the fire lane for over an hour-and-a-half. Police responded and said the car was moved to a parking spot and turned off. 

Thursday, February 20

2:09 a.m. Police pulled a car over on the Concord Turnpike and gave the driver a written warning for a lane violation. The driver told police they would pull into CareOne to take a nap. 

10:40 a.m. A resident told police that he lost his wedding band near Verrill Farm or Crosby’s Market on Feb. 14. Police said it was unknown whether the ring was found. 

10:42 a.m. Police received a 911 open line call near Gifford Lane. When the police called back, the caller said it was an accident and that he had held a button for too long. 

5:41 p.m. Police responded to an alarm on Nashawtuc Road, but reported that it was accidentally set off by the cleaners. 

Friday, February 21

1:16 a.m. A Channing Road resident told police that she found an elderly corgi lying in the middle of Lowell Road. The resident told police that she would keep it in her house for the night. The Animal Control Officer was advised. 

3:58 p.m. Police received a 911 call that there was a two-vehicle crash near eastbound Route 2 and Main Street. First responders and Scott Motors responded. Police said the airbags did not deploy, and one vehicle was towed. One person was taken to Emerson to wait for a ride. One driver was cited for operating a motor vehicle after suspension. 

Saturday, February 22

10:42 a.m. Police received a call for an alarm on Lowell Road. Police responded and confirmed that it was accidentally set off by cleaners. 

5 p.m. A caller told police that only one gate  was down at the railroad crossing on Sudbury Road and Thoreau Street and lights were flashing. The caller said there wasn’t a train in the area, and cars were driving around the gate. Police responded and notified Keolis, and a technician resolved the issue. 

9:53 p.m. Police received a 911 call from Lowell Road saying she believed she heard a dog in distress in the woods. Police checked the area but did not hear any howling. 

Sunday, February 23

1:29 a.m. A police officer checked on the well-being of a driver at the Gulf station at the Commonwealth Avenue rotary. The driver told police they were resting and would move along shortly. 

1:44 p.m. A Monument Street caller told police there was a sedan partially in the road at the trailhead for Estabrook Woods. Police made contact with the owner of the vehicle, who said he was walking back. Police issued a parking citation. 

2:05 p.m. Police received an open line 911 call on a cellphone near Finigan Way. Police called back multiple times with no answer. Police responded, and the homeowner told officers it was an accident. 

3:20 p.m. A person walked into the Concord Police Station and said she found a license plate in a snowbank in the parking lot of a school. Police left a message with the owner. 

7:21 p.m. A caller reported that there were two injured raccoons on the road near Main and Thoreau streets. The ACO was notified, as was Concord Public Works to pick up one dead raccoon from the roadside. 

Monday, February 24

7:57 a.m. A Monsen Road caller said her dog ran into the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge and she could not find it. The ACO was notified. The caller later called the police back and said she found the dog. 

7:58 a.m. Dispatch received a wireless open line 911 call near Lowell Road. Upon being called back, the person said it was a misdial while they were at the Concord Market. 

10:40 a.m. An Elm Street resident asked to speak with an officer about her sick dog. Animal Control was notified for follow up. The resident called back at 10:46 a.m. to ask for help getting her dog into her vehicle. An officer responded and helped. The caller took her dog to a vet in Boston. 

12:57 p.m. An employee reported that there were items, apparently clothing, along with a blue tarp  on a path near 310 and 320 Baker Avenue. Police responded and found that the clothing was on private property. 

2:06 p.m. A caller told police that their dog was missing near Hapgood Wright Town Forest. The ACO was notified. The caller called back and said they found their dog. 

Tuesday, February 25

12:03 p.m. A resident called 911 to report multiple trucks parked on Barretts Mill Road causing traffic. Police said a detail was staged in the area.

3:22 p.m. Dispatch received a wireless hangup 911 call near Bedford Street and Nancy Road. Police left a voicemail when they called back.
