I am writing to urge you to join me in voting to elect Elizabeth Akehurst-Moore to the Select Board. Elizabeth’s unique educational background — a law degree from Harvard and a master’s in historic conservation from the University of York — makes her exceptionally well qualified to help Concord navigate the balance between necessary progress and cultural preservation. This combination of legal expertise and historic understanding is what our town needs as we face upcoming and important decisions about development within our community.
I have known Elizabeth for many years through the Concord Business Partnership and am thankful for her service on the Zoning Board of Appeals and the MCI Advisory Committee. Through her service, Elizabeth has displayed her ability to take a balanced, solution-oriented approach to the town’s challenges and opportunities.
Additionally, as a business leader who has successfully operated Trail’s End Café, Nosh, and Concord Market, Elizabeth brings valuable skills in fiscal management and practical problem-solving. She understands what businesses need to thrive in our town and has specific ideas for expanding our commercial tax base in a manner that aligns with Concord’s values.
Most importantly, when you speak with Elizabeth, you immediately sense her willingness to listen to all perspectives, her commitment to transparency, and her genuine passion for Concord’s future — with four children, she is vested in it and is ready to bring her experience and collaborative spirit to the Select Board for the betterment of our town.
Please join me in voting for Elizabeth Akehurst-Moore on April 8.
