A conversation with Mary Hartman is always enjoyable and enlightening because she really is a good person who cares about others. You can’t help but notice that about her. You will discover that she will actually want to know what you feel about the issues of the town and be considerate of any thoughts you express. She is a listener and a healer with an eye on the town’s future.
Her history highlights a deep background in business (senior finance manager of a Fortune 50 company) and years serving on Concord’s own Finance Committee. This solid foundation gives her clarity on the fiscal issues of the town. She is practical to the bone.
It is no small thing that the Concord Select Board has named her as their chairperson. That alone tells you a lot about their respect for her ability to manage and to lead. The former chair of the board Matt Johnson said of her, “Mary seeks input, listens carefully, and takes action on the toughest of challenges.”
When Concord is planning its future, you want Mary to be there, doing the work, resolving the issues, continuing to guide Concord forward. We should appreciate her service. I know that I do.
