Alexa Anderson for School Committee: ‘A staunch advocate’ for all students

March 21, 2025

I am writing to express my disappointment in The Concord Bridge for publishing unwarranted attacks on School Committee candidate Alexa Anderson. Ms. Anderson has proven herself to be a staunch advocate for our students, demonstrating leadership and commitment to ensuring all children in our schools receive the support they need.

Her advocacy for ADA-compliant bathrooms at the high school is just one example of her dedication to equity and inclusion — championing the needs of seniors with declining mobility and students with physical disabilities. She embodies the values that Concord has long taken pride in.

As we face an educational landscape where we may increasingly need to rely on local support, we cannot afford to abandon programs that serve marginalized communities. Ensuring our schools meet the needs of all students — including those with disabilities — is not just a moral obligation but a reflection of who we are as a town. Electing leaders like Alexa Anderson, who stand up for what’s right and prioritize the needs of all students, is essential to maintaining Concord’s commitment to inclusivity and educational excellence.

I am disheartened to see that some in our community have fallen under the influence of those encouraging opposition to students, education, and historically marginalized populations. Alexa Anderson will not. And she has my vote.

As we move forward, it will be up to all of us to hold the School Committee and our other leaders accountable. But we can do so without resorting to ad hominem attacks. Let’s leave that kind of discourse to the usual suspects on Twitter and in Washington.
