For Select Board, Hartman and Boehm

March 21, 2025

Being on the Select Board is nearly a full-time job, requiring 30+ hours per week, ideal for a retired resident with deep knowledge of the town and its various committees. Given that several parcels, among them MCI-Concord, Peabody School, and 2229 Main Street, totaling about 120 acres, are becoming available, experience in finance, land use, and environmental issues is paramount. Housing is a perennial need in Concord, as is the need to renovate and relocate Concord’s police and fire departments and Concord Public Works, which are currently in cramped, outdated facilities.

Mary Hartman and Paul Boehm both have this experience.

Mary has served a term on the Select Board and six years on the Finance Committee, planning school and town capital projects collaboratively and getting those projects going. She looks at the big picture when planning land use, bringing people together to solve problems.

Paul Boehm, trained as an environmental scientist, has a keen interest in open space, recreation, and the environment. He served on the 2229 Main Street Committee (the former Starmet site), the Community Preservation Committee, the Natural Resources Commission, and currently serves on the Recreation Commission. He proposes Concord draw up a strategic multi-year plan to meet the town’s land use needs in priority order.

I wholeheartedly recommend voting for Mary Hartman and Paul Boehm for Select Board.
