When we heard that Joe Laurin had decided to enter the race for Select Board, we remembered his August 2, 2024, angry letter to the editor, in which he accused diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) “mouthpieces” of “bullying tactics” and “demands for center stage.”
Concord benefits from representatives who support efforts to make our town and schools comfortable for all residents, employees, and visitors — and someone who will not distort the narrative or disparage those working toward those goals (or any other goal worthy of consideration). In the interest of civility and receptive consideration of different perspectives within our community, we urge Concordians to vote for other well-qualified Select Board candidates instead of Mr. Laurin.
