I am writing to express my enthusiastic support for Mary Hartman for Select Board. I have been fortunate to get to know Mary through my work on the MCI Advisory Board. In that time she has consistently demonstrated an ability to grasp the myriad of issues surrounding that project. She asks important and necessary questions, listens carefully, and is very adept at reconciling competing interests. She has the rare ability to look at complex issues from inside and out.
In watching her perform her responsibilities as chair of the Select Board, I have noticed that she prioritizes understanding her constituent concerns, ensures people feel heard, and knows the importance of getting things done in a timely manner. She has a long track record of consensus building and significant results. From her behavior and the ability to achieve measurable results, it is clear she cares deeply for the interests of the Town of Concord.
Given the number of important and challenging issues facing the town, I feel like Mary’s steady, informed, and capable hand/mind is exactly what we need to help us navigate the next several years. For all of these reasons, I believe we should re-elect her for another three-year term.
