I nominated Elizabeth Akehurst-Moore for the Select Board at this year’s caucus because she embodies the very best of what Concord stands for — principled decision-making, thoughtful leadership, and a commitment to community.
Elizabeth is data-driven, measured, and analytical in her approach. Whether in her role on the Zoning Board of Appeals, as an integral member of the Concord Business Partnership, or in her new role on the MCI Committee, her contributions are always thoughtful, well-researched, and guided by a commitment to making informed, intelligent decisions. I’ve had the privilege of working closely with her, and I’ve seen firsthand how she does the hard work required to make good and effective policy.
Of course, many of us know Elizabeth through her successful business, Concord Market, which has become such a beloved part of our community that it feels like it’s always been here. I can’t personally imagine life without it — especially after losing the West Concord Supermarket and their unparalleled steak tips. Elizabeth’s commitment to supporting our town is evident in every aspect of her work. Her businesses have had an incredibly positive impact on Concord, fostering connection and vitality.
Elizabeth is deeply committed to Concord, and we are lucky to have her. She’s not afraid to roll up her sleeves and take on the hard work necessary to make thoughtful, sustainable decisions for the town. She is an intelligent, analytical leader who knows what she’s talking about because she takes the time to research thoroughly before forming a position.
Elizabeth Akehurst-Moore has already done so much for Concord, and I am confident that her service on the Select Board will only further strengthen our community. Please join me in voting for her on April 8.
