Anderson is ‘frank and principled’

March 28, 2025

I’m writing today to share my wholehearted support for Alexa Anderson’s re-election to the Concord School Committee — from the unique perspective of someone who’s known her since we were in kindergarten at Willard.

Alexa and I went to high school together, and even then, it was clear she was destined to be a leader. She served on class government and was our student representative to the School Committee for three years — sophomore through senior year. While most of us were focused on prom or passing chemistry, Alexa was already sitting in meetings with district leaders, advocating for students’ academic and social needs. It’s only fitting that 30 years later, she’s still doing exactly that.

What has always impressed me about Alexa — back then and still today — is her unwavering commitment to others. She doesn’t seek the spotlight, but she consistently shows up, volunteers her time, and puts in the hard work for her community. That was true when she was organizing student events in high school, and it’s true now in her service on the School Committee.

And make no mistake — Alexa is outspoken. She was never afraid to speak her mind as a teenager, and she’s still just as frank and principled now. She brings that same fearless honesty to her work on the committee. You’ll never wonder where she stands. Whether or not she agrees with the superintendent or fellow members, Alexa will always make her convictions clear — and that kind of integrity matters deeply in public service.

I’m so proud to call Alexa my friend and to see her continuing the work she started all those years ago — advocating for students and making our schools stronger. Concord is lucky to have her, and I hope you’ll join me in voting for Alexa Anderson.
