No kids in Concord public schools? Your vote still matters this April

March 28, 2025

Three years ago we moved to Concord from Lexington, where our four grown children attended public schools. We had the good fortune of meeting Michael Williams during the campaign to name the middle school after Ellen Garrison.

Michael is thoughtful, insightful, brilliant, and compassionate. He devoted his professional life to working as a pediatric surgeon, taking care of children and attending to their parents. He has lived in Concord for 30 years and had four children go through schools in town. In his retirement, he’s decided to devote his time to serve the community and its schools.

We are among the many Concord residents who do not have children in public schools. We have a vested interest, however, in maintaining quality public education for the sake of the children and the community. We know from our experience that it’s important to have a school system that works for all. We are pleased to support the schools financially but want to have confidence that money is being wisely spent. We know that Michael will work to strike the right balance with school budgets.

We admire and appreciate Michael’s strong communication and collaboration skills. He is a good listener, as well as communicator. We’re impressed by his ability to research and make data-driven decisions. Michael has all the qualities necessary to do an outstanding job.

We wholeheartedly support the election of Dr. Michael Williams to the School Committee.
