Paul Boehm: ‘Balanced judgment, practical experience’

March 28, 2025

Paul Boehm has the balanced judgement, practical experience, and Concord values that we need on the Select Board.

In Concord, we value education. Paul’s commitment to learning goes beyond the education of his children, and now grandchildren, in the Concord Public Schools. He has approached his service on numerous town committees as a chance to educate the public so that we can make sound, informed choices. His natural proclivity to examine things deeply means that Paul has developed a comprehensive understanding of the things that Concord government does well — not just the things that need work.

I came to understand Paul’s skills when we served together on committees evaluating the Superfund site at 2229 Main Street. He approached every question with a scientist’s eye, evaluating the facts and reaching out whenever it was clear that we needed more information to make practical decisions. I admired his ability to balance our narrow issues with his pragmatic understanding of what our town needs, and I watched him hone those skills on the Recreation Commission and the Community Preservation Committee.

In these times of fiscal uncertainty, Concord has the opportunity to redevelop properties at MCI-Concord, 2229 Main Street, and Peabody School to meet our growing infrastructure needs. Paul has the judgment to distinguish which plans are worth the money, which things are not worth the cost, and which things are more valuable than money. I trust his decisions. I urge you to vote for Paul Boehm for Select Board.
