Earlier in the week, Concord-Carlisle faced off against strong programs in Winchester and Billerica, coming up short in both contests.

Head coach Jon Smith and his staff used the preseason slate to test different lineups and emphasize team fundamentals. Contributions came via players from all grades, showing depth and helping to build versatility and chemistry.

The Patriots looked sharp against Burlington — executing well in the offensive end, staying disciplined and aggressive on defense, and demonstrating strong goaltending from three different goalies.

“It has been great to see the amount of improvement we have had in just two weeks,” said Smith. “Every day, this team is working hard to get better, and it was awesome to see that improvement in our play this morning versus Burlington. We are excited for the season to start.”

The regular season was scheduled to begin April 2 with a home matchup against rival Lincoln-Sudbury, followed by an away game on April 5 against Newton North.
