Concord250 owes celebration’s success to many

April 25, 2025

Our thanks to all who made the town’s 250th celebration a success. There were so many who worked hard to make the endless stream of events uplifting, educational, entertaining, and safe. This included our police and fire departments; the Massachusetts Army National Guard; our own ball committee, which recreated the Patriots Day mainstay in all its historic details; the Concord Independent Battery; the parade, public safety, and hospitality subcommittees; the Concord Minute Men; the Concord Museum and the Wright Tavern; the 250 Executive Committee; and, not to be forgotten or taken for granted, the many generous donors to our independent, non-profit corporation who made our work possible.

We were proud to sponsor, support, and facilitate a number of the most notable activities of the past week including the revival of the Patriots Ball; the Salute to Valor dinner honoring Medal of Honor recipients; and the participation of the University of Massachusetts marching band, the CCHS marching band and cheerleaders; and the large contingent of Scouts participating in the parade. The corporation intends to remain active in future years to sponsor the annual Patriots Ball and to support other activities of historical, patriotic, and cultural significance relating to the town of Concord.

Without the efforts of so many, it would not have been possible for us to come together in such a great and important celebration, and we thank them all. That shot made famous by Emerson rings true today as much as it ever has in the past.
