The Concord-Carlisle High School golf team defeated the Acton-Boxborough Revolution 45.5-26.5 at Quail Ridge Country Club in Acton on September 17. The team’s average match score stood at 38.2 through five matches.

Sophomore Jake Erston’s -2 round of 33 led the way in the Patriots’ win. Along with Erston’s success, Ahrinn Desai, Theo Price, and captain Erika Redmond each posted an even-par 35.

Sophie Redmond and Joe Grasso also contributed, with solid scores of 36 and 37, respectively.

With the win, the Patriots remain undefeated (5-0) in Dual County League play, and their goal of qualifying for the state sectional tournament is within reach.

Streak continues in Franklin Park

The team beat Boston Latin Wolfpack, 37-35, on September 19 to remain undefeated.

The contest went down to the final match of the day, with the Patriots down by 3 with the last foursome out on the course. Sophie Redmond won her match 5.5 to 3.5, and Grasso came up big at 6 to 3 to secure the victory.

A 12-15 mph crosswind affected play, as many approach shots came up short. This put pressure on the players’ wedge game, but they sank many crucial putts.

Each of the Patriots shot sub-40 once again, giving them one of the best team shot per match averages in the Dual County League. Grasso, Desai, and Erika Redmond each shot an even-par 35, Theo Price tallied a 36, and both Sophie Redmond and Erston carded 37.
