The Town Clerk’s Office will begin sending inactivation notices to voters beginning the week of May 29 — and if you haven’t returned your census forms, you’re on the list.
The Board of Registrars is required to mail a notice of inactivation to voters who have not responded to the census, which currently number 1,329.
Voter lists must be kept up to date. Voters need to know that their status has changed from active to inactive, and they are invited to reinstate their status as Active or to allow the towns= to delete them if they have moved out of town. A self-addressed, stamped envelope is included with a response form and while it costs the town a little more to reach out to voters in this way, it’s worth every response received. to have accurate and up to date voter lists.
