He served our country in the United States Army after being drafted in 1961.  He was stationed in Fort Dix and Korea, before being honorably discharged as Private First Class in 1963.

Jack’s professional career began with the Town of Wellesley in 1963, first as the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation, before being promoted to Superintendent, a position he held from 1968 until his retirement in 2002.

He was inducted into the Concord-Carlisle Athletic Hall of Fame and was the recipient of the Peter C. O’Brien Humanitarian Award.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he leaves behind his loving children, John Hutchinson, Jr., Lorie Ogilvie and her husband Parky, Linda Henell and her husband Steven and Janey Ward and her husband Alec.  He was the proud “Bedee” to Kara and Brett Ogilvie, Makena, Sean and Cameryn Henell, Kaia and Ava Ward and Mackenzie Blaney.  Jack is also survived by his brothers, William Hutchinson and his wife Rose and Paul Hutchinson and his wife Doris, along with many nieces and nephews.
