The trails on both sides of the North Bridge will be closed for approximately eight weeks starting September 3, the National Park Service says.

The closures will affect paths leading from the Liberty Street parking lot and the path from Monument Street to the bridge.

Bus parking will be limited. Tour buses can use the Liberty Street lot, and parking will be limited at the Monument Street lot, though there will be spaces available to access The Robbins House.

The North Bridge Visitor Center will remain open during its regular hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Restrooms will be available at the visitor center and at the Monument Street comfort stations.

The work will repair poor drainage and trail erosion.

It’s part of a multi-million-dollar, multi-year project funded by the Great American Outdoors Act “to repair and preserve historic structures and landscapes in the park prior to the 250th anniversary of the opening battle of the American Revolution in April 2025,” the Park Service said in a release.
