I’m writing with thanks to the wonderful caregivers at West Concord Animal Clinic.
We recently had to put our dog to sleep. It is the single worst part of owning a dog, and no matter how many dogs you have had and how many times you have had to say good-bye, it is awful. For nearly 18 months, he suffered repeated issues resulting in multiple surgeries. By the third tumor, we all knew his time was limited.
Despite painful prodding and poking, he always showed up to the vet wagging furiously and happy to see his human friends there, and they were always thrilled to see him. When we finally knew it was his time, everyone at the hospital grieved with us to say goodbye. They made us all comfortable, celebrated his fantastic personality, and gently and humanely ended his suffering while we held him in our laps.
We are sincerely grateful for your many kindnesses.
