Una Irene (Caldwell) Kaveski.

Una Irene (Caldwell) Kaveski, 95

Una Irene (Caldwell) Kaveski, of Concord, passed away in the early morning of November 24, 2024, at age 95.

Una was born on December 29, 1928, in Newton, but she grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada, with her Canadian parents and family. She attended Mack Business College in Nova Scotia, where she earned a business/secretarial diploma. She moved to the United States at 18 to work and stay with American relatives in Lexington.

She met Joseph Kaveski of Concord at a dance at the Commodore Dance Club in Lowell, and they were married in 1949. She and Joseph built their home in Concord themselves, with the help of Una’s father, Eric Caldwell, on farmland that belonged to Joseph’s parents (now Concord’s Kaveski Farm Conservation Land) located on Shadyside Avenue.

Una loved being a homemaker. She loved to garden, cook, sew, knit, and read. She loved the outdoors — especially the ocean — and spent many happy times visiting her favorite places, Gloucester and Rockport. She also loved to travel by car and enjoyed many happy vacations in Florida, as well as touring the entire United States and eastern Canada several times by car. She particularly loved the beautiful cities of Charleston, South Carolina, and Quebec City, Canada. Una also loved going to art museums and attending classical music concerts and ballet performances in Boston.

She was very close to her only child, Sharon Kiel, who lives in Bedford with her husband, Martin, and their 24-year-old violinist daughter Sarah. Una is predeceased by her husband, Joseph, and brother, Allison Caldwell. Una’s other living relatives include her first cousin Laureen Delsie of Fitchburg and sister-in-law Barbara Caldwell of Idaho, other members of her family in Nova Scotia, and family of her late husband locally and in New Orleans. Una will be missed so very, very much by her family and friends.

Per Una’s request, her burial service will be private, for her immediate family only.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service. For her online guestbook, visit DeeFuneralHome.com.
