Mary Hartman announces run for Select Board re-election

December 20, 2024

This letter announces my decision to run for re-election to the Select Board. As chair, I have the good fortune to lead engaged, intelligent board members. Some of our noteworthy accomplishments include:

  • Developing a policy to ask our not-for-profit organizations to pay for a share of the services the town provides to them. This has the potential to add $1.6m annually to the general fund.
  • Empaneling and empowering the MCI Advisory Board. This board is working cooperatively with state agencies to develop a reuse plan for the prison parcel that is in the best interests of the town.
  • Hosting meetings with the School Committees and the Finance Committee to jointly prioritize our capital needs.

My husband and I moved to Concord when we downsized to our condo. We were attracted to the library, the trails, the farm stands, the Beede Center, and the shops in our village centers. And we found much more. We are grateful to be here and grateful to be able to give back.

Besides MCI, we have several major projects underway that will shape the future of Concord for decades. I bring experience, competence, and stability to these conversations. I will continue to work hard to earn your support.

Mary Hartman
