What an incredible night: a courageous battle on the gridiron between two old rivals, and a 50/50 raffle for a good cause! The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle would like to extend its thanks to the Concord, Carlisle, Boston, and Bedford communities for making the raffle at the Concord-Carlisle High School Patriots’ last home football game of 2022 such a success. Fans from both sides of the turf were enthusiastic with their ticket purchases; the CCHS boys played their hearts, but bowed to their former Thanksgiving rivals, the Bedford Buccaneers.
The Scholarship Fund is especially grateful to CCHS Cheerleading Team for their willingness to sell tickets and promote a great cause. The Cheerleading Team also donated the day’s earnings from their Snack Shack to The Scholarship Fund, with all proceeds being designated to The Charles A. Robichaud Scholarship, which honors former CCHS teacher and coach Al Robichaud.
We would also like to extend our thanks to Jeff and David Robichaud for pulling the winning ticket in honor of their father, as well as Co-Principals Katie Stahl and Brian Miller, Athletic Director Aaron Joncas, Head Coach Josh Reed, Head Custodian Steve Wall, and CCHS Announcer David Bell.
The night was a fabulous way for our towns to come together to cheer on the athletes, and to celebrate the 56 years of The Scholarship Fund helping students living or educated in Concord and Carlisle to realize their dreams of a higher Education.
Finally, The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle would especially like to thank the winning ticket holder: a Bedford fan who wishes to remain anonymous. In the true spirit of the evening, this person chose to donate his winnings back to The Scholarship Fund. Thanks to his generosity, the enthusiasm of the crowd, and CCHS Cheerleading Team, over $2,500 was raised in total that will go directly to supporting next year’s scholars.
