The Concord Free Public Library is extending its hours at the Main Library to include Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Sunday, Dec. 4. The Fowler Branch Library remains closed on Sundays.
Adult Programs
“After Hours at Fowler with Radha Jalan” Tuesday, Dec. 6, 7 p.m.
Join West Concord resident Radha Jalan for a discussion of her recently published memoir, From Calcutta to Concord: The Journey of an Independent Woman. Learn about the challenges she faced and overcame and ask her your questions. Refreshments will be provided. This program will take place at the Fowler Branch Library.
“Poetry from the Library Featuring Maya Janson and Helena Minton” Sunday, Dec. 11, 3 p.m.
Join acclaimed poets Maya Janson and former Concord resident Helena Minton, who will read from their works and engage in a Q&A with the audience about their craft. This event will take place in the Goodwin Forum at the Main Library. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Concord Free Public Library.
Teen Programs
“Teen Dungeons and Dragons” Wednesday, Dec. 7, 3:30 p.m.
Teens! Join Dungeons and Dragons at the Teen Lounge in the Main Library. Play casual one-off games or start a campaign with others. Beginners encouraged. Experts expected to help out! No registration required.

Join The Board Game Advisory Board! Receive your very own Board Game Board Member membership card and choose from our game selection at the Library, plan which games we purchase in the future, or bring your own board and card games from home. Children’s Programs
“Fairy Tales at Fowler” Thursday, Dec. 8, 4:30 p.m.
Explore the world through folktales and fairy tales in this storytime for a slightly older audience! We’ll share songs, stories, and do a hands-on craft at the Fowler Library. If weather allows, we will meet in the Fowler Backyard. Otherwise, join us in the meeting room. No registration required.
“Introduction to the Italian Language” Saturday, Dec. 10, 10:30 a.m.
The Children’s Library is partnering with Concord Scholars Institute for Arts and Languages to host free monthly introductory language classes for children and their caregivers. Led by highly qualified, experienced, and creative native-speaking teachers, these foreign language classes focus on developing communicative skills while enhancing a cultural understanding of these languages.
