Rena A. (Bertolucci) Marchi, age 103, of Concord, died peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 4. She was the wife of the late Vitalino Marchi, who died in 1982.
Rena was born in Boston on June 12, 1919 to her late parents, Annibale and Catherine Bertolucci. She was raised in the city, before marrying and settling in Concord in the 1950’s. For years, she was an Administrative Assistant at GenRad, but dedicated most of her life to family, especially raising her two children.
She embodied a passion for travel, enjoying several trips to Italy, Switzerland, and Greece, as well as Yellowstone and many other destinations. Rena enjoyed dining out with relatives and friends, and was an avid reader. In addition, she will be remembered as a woman of unwavering faith.
She will be missed by her devoted son, John Marchi, of Concord. Rena also leaves behind her two nephews, Mark and Robert Salvetti. She was the mother of the late Linda Marchi Frederick who died in November 2021, and sister to the late Ida Salvetti, Harold Bertolucci and Leon Bertolucci.
Family and friends will gather for visiting hours in the Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center on Thursday, Dec. 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Irene Parish, 181 East St., Carlisle. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Concord.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rena’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
